The National Football Foundation honored Section III Scholar-Athletes during an awards dinner at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, recently, where Altmar-Parish Williamstown High School senior Greg Palmer represented the APW Football Team while receiving his award. He was accompanied by his parents, Karla and Mark Palmer and APW representatives included his football coach John Jeffries and APW Athletic Director Bert Conklin.
The $500 scholarship award given to Palmer recognized his “Academic Achievement, School and Community Leadership, and Football Performance.” Palmer is a three-year starter at WR/RB and Safety and is a two-year captain for the team and was the recipient of the Team MVP award this year. He also holds a school record for career interceptions. Palmer’s academic record is also notable with a GPA of 91, and he ranks 13th in his class. His college choices include Clarkson University, Ithaca College, and Utica College.
