Salmon River Youth Soccer ready to kick off

Salmon River Youth Soccer is ready to kick off their inductive season.  Actual play will begin in August and run for eight weeks into September.  All children throughout Oswego County, ages four to 14 are eligible for play.

The board of directors for Salmon River Youth Soccer sent out pre-registration forms to see if there was enough interest in the community to organize a league through New York State West Youth Soccer.  “The response has been overwhelming”, says Robin Philips.  “We have been so fortunate to have the support of the community.  The Haldane Center is allowing us field space and PROP (Preservation and Revitalization of Pulaski) has been helping us as well.  There are almost 200 area youths pre-registered and we have some amazing parents that are excited to coach.  We’re looking forward to a great first season.”
In order to accommodate a U14 division, the league will hold a session for this age division in July, allowing the sixth- and seventh-graders a chance to play and get into shape prior to their school’s modified soccer program.

Final registration forms have been sent home with students from Lura Sharp Elementary and have been emailed to all who pre-registered.  If anyone needs a registration form, feel free to contact a board member.  President Tara Kveton can be reached by phone at 591-7108 or e-mail,, or vice president Robin Philips at 298-7279 or e-mail, beefandbl oomers@net, or secretary Claire Witter at, or treasurer Jeff Eisel at seisel92@yah
