National Honor Society helps Clean up Phoenix

Oswego County Weeklies

by Chelsea Heilig

On Saturday May 21, John C. Birdlebough High School's National Honor Society walked all around Phoenix picking up litter. National Honor Society Advisor, Angie Neiss, was the one who came up with the idea to clean up the community.

The group currently has 41 members, and recently they inducted 23 new members and consists of only 10th-, 11th-, and 12th-graders who have an average of 90 or higher. Members must also have leadership, service, and good character.

The group must do two service projects, the clean up has been the second service project this year.

It was so successful that the group plans on cleaning up the community next year.
