A student reflects on the meaning of Memorial Day

As Memorial Day approaches, I reflect on all I have to be grateful and thankful for.

I’m a student at Paul V. Moore High School and an active member in our band program. This year our band will be participating in the Central Square and Constantia parade as we have done in the past. I am honored to represent my school as I march to pay tribute to all the men and woman who have served our great country so that I may continue to live, learn, and grow in a land of freedom.

The choices I make each and everyday I do not take for granted. It is because of the bravery of many men and women, I can continue to have the opportunities to achieve my goals and dreams.

It will be with great honor and gratitude that I will march in the Memorial Day Parade with pride.
