The Scriba Historical Society will meet on Monday May 14 to hold a Flag Retiring Ceremony. This ceremony will be conducted by members of Boy Scout Troop 888 with Scoutmaster Steven Schrecengost.
Flags that are worn out, ragged, soiled or faded can be brought to this ceremony, where they will be correctly disassembled and the pieces reverently burned.
The meeting will take place at Scriba Town Park on O’Conner Road at 7 p.m.
The public is invited to attend and may bring flags to be retired if they have them. It is also suggested that those attending bring a lawn chair.
