The need for blood and blood products is one constantly ongoing in order to replenish what is being regularly provided through the blood supply system. Since what is in the supply is always being used up, the American Red Cross is constantly working with a variety of individuals and groups to organize local blood drives which continue to feed product supply to area hospitals and emergency responders, as well as those in more distant crisis areas of the world.
Working with the Red Cross and local groups to organize the events, a series of blood drives sponsored by the Enterprise Fire Company No. 1 have been underway in Phoenix.
Another opportunity for local residents to contribute to the ongoing need for blood will take place next week on Saturday, June 4 at the fire station, 457 Main St.
Donors are welcome between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the downstairs hall of the fire station. Appointments are encouraged but drop-ins are welcome.
Prior planned drives at the Enterprise Fire Company have broken area records, so organizers are hopeful as they continue these scheduled events.
The American Red Cross and Phoenix Enterprise Fire Department remind the community that ‘blood donation makes a lifesaving difference’ for those in need.
