Residents of Fulton Mill Apartments in Fulton enjoyed a special visit from the youth in the Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s CYO Mentoring Program. CYO participants joined residents in creating Count Down to Christmas Chains.
“It was a memorable day for both the children and the residents,” said CYO Supervisor, Stacie Roberts. “I am very compassionate about developing intergenerational relationships as they strengthen individuals, families and communities. To see the residents interact with the children in our Mentoring Program is priceless. There was a lot of smiles and conversation as the residents enjoyed having additional activities and our youth appreciated the chance to spend some time with the residents.”
The CYO Mentoring Program matches elementary school children with high school students and provides them with peer support and a positive role model. Mentors provide friendship, guidance, and support through one on one time and group activities.
