The Phoenix Food Co-Op makes good food sense for families, offering low price, quality food with up to 40 percent savings. Food co-op units are available to all persons (residents or non-residents) at a cost of only $15.50 per unit ordered and all community members are encouraged to take advantage of this savings opportunity. As an incentive - something new for a limited time - anyone who brings in a new customer, the co-op will take 50 percent off one of their ordered units.
The sign-up date, to place orders for the January co-op units is on Wednesday, Jan. 4 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the co-op site, located at 43 Bridge St. in Phoenix, downstairs at the First Congregational Church. Contact 695-4841 for any questions. All monies are due at the time of order. EBT cards accepted. The scheduled date to pick up food units ordered, is on Wednesday, Jan. 18 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Any community resident is eligible to order and is encouraged to order each month for great savings.
The tentative list of items for upcoming unit packages in January includes: one pound of meatballs, 12 ounces of breaded veal patties, one pound of Italian sausage, one pound ground chicken, one dozen fresh eggs, eight ounces of shredded mozarella, one pound of spaghetti, 15 ounces of bread crumbs, 26 ounces of spaghetti sauce, 14.5 ounces crushed tomatoes, plus two available fresh produce (not yet known).
In addition to the standard unit package, seven special bonus packages are also available for order the upcoming month, at additional cost. January bonus packages are as follows: Bonus No.1 provides a a two pound pork roast (boneless sirloin cut) for $7 with the Bonus No. 2 package featuring two pounds beef patties at $7. In addition, Bonus No. 3 offers five pounds of American cheese (not individually wrapped) at a price of $11 and Bonus No. 4 provides six pounds of French fries for $4. Bonus special No. 5 offers a 96 ounce meat lasagna (Stouffer’s) for $11.50. Bonus No. 6 features four pounds of chicken wings (jumbo/individual quick frozen) for $8 and a bonus special this month, No. 7, offers 10 pounds breaded haddock (precooked/four ounce portions) for $22.25.
