The Viewers’ Choice Award, determined by the publics' vote during the Fulton Art Association’s 2011 High School Invitational Art and Photography Show held Saturday and Sunday, March 5-6, was tallied at the end of the competition. All individuals who attended the high school show were provided the opportunity to vote for their favorite art or photography entry in the show. The vote was extremely close with only one vote separating each place. The winner of the Viewers’ Choice Award receives a ribbon comparable to best of show and a check for $50 sponsored by Fulton Savings Bank.
The winner of the Viewers’ Choice award for the 2011 high school show was awarded to Nikole Bonacorsi, a senior from Oswego High School, for her computer graphic art self portrait entitled Skies So Burden, Let Her Go.
The artwork with the second highest number of votes was Breakfast in America, a pencil drawing by James Leach (12th grade – Phoenix. Third place tally was Rebecca Chatterton (12th grade – Oswego) for her drawing C entry, Midnight Reverie. The entry with the fourth highest number of votes was Sarah Dennison (12th grade – Phoenix) for her digital photo entitled $5 Photo Shoot. Fifth place was Erin McIntosh (12th grade– Phoenix) for her digital photo called Nikole. Sixth place was tied by Brandon Atkinson (11th grade – Fulton) for his metalwork of a fish called The Perfect Catch and Meghan Gillen (11th grade – Hannibal) for her colored pencil drawing, Lake Stones.
