Music camp is coming back

West Baptist Church in Oswego (corner of W. Third and Mohawk streets) is very excited to announce that they will be hosting the 5th Annual ‘Make a Joyful Noise: Summer Music Camp’ from July 11-15 from 5:30 -8:30 p.m.

It is completely free and open to anyone between the ages of 4 and 12. It will be a week in which children will get hands-on experience with hand bells, recorder, rhythm instruments, and choral music.

In addition to that, each night we will also have a snack time, a game and/or craft time and a time for our students that play instruments to perform for each other.

“I think that it is important to give kids the chance to play for each other.
It is one thing for adults to play for the kids but to have them hear what people their own age can do is a powerful experience.” States camp director Abel Searor.

This year’s camp theme is “Music is for all Seasons.”

Campers will see how music helps us to celebrate different times of year and will explore the way that music impacts our daily life all year round from the patriotic music that we experience in the summer to a “Christmas in July” atmosphere as we celebrate winter.

The week will culminate in a Friday evening performance put on by the children for friends and family; followed by refreshments.

To pre-register or if you have any questions please call Abel Searor at the West Baptist Church at: 343-1988.
