Trees to be donated to county students

The Oswego County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs and Entergy Nuclear Northeast both recently gave donations toward the 2011 Plant-a-Tree Program (PAT).

The Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County 4-H Program work together to coordinate the PAT program which will distribute 5000 tree seedlings and educational materials to Oswego County students in grades kindergarten through five in late April.

According to a spokesperson for the PAT program, “We truly appreciate the annual commitment of the Sportsmen’s Federation and Entergy Nuclear in funding this important program for the county’s youth.” In mid-March, details about the PAT program will be distributed to all teachers of grades kindergarten though five in Oswego County.
